Holiday Hiatus
Next week, December 15, will be the last “Job Search News” (and newsletter) for the year. Unless there is major breaking news, I will resume on January 19. The podcast will also be on hiatus starting Dec. 12 until Jan. 16. I invite you to subscribe to the podcast if you haven’t already, and if you could please, write an honest review by starting here.
Seize the holiday
I say it every year the holidays are to be leveraged during your job search. I’ll let this article tell you the reasons you should, but it’s to your advantage to capitalize on every opportunity.
Is it too late?
Don’t be surprised if it’s not too late to find a part-time gig. This article states there are companies finding it hard to hire enough people for retail. They encourage their seasonal workers to refer their friends and have found a way to pay workers quickly (like everyday). It’s an interesting read to find out how seasonal work is being made attractive and an easier hiring process.
Do employers understand you?
Conveying meaning is as important as proving merit. The more a potential employer knows about you abilities, the more they’ll care about your availability. Great advice to understand what needs to be communicated. You’ll have more time to target the clarity of your communication during the holiday season. You might want to scrub the confusing artifacts on your social media profiles while your at it.
To compliment the article above is mine from a few years back. I hope you would find it helpful.
Finally, stay in demand my friends!
