GUEST ARTICLES (for podcast see below)
****NO PUBLIC RELATIONS – MEDIA RELATIONS PITCHES**** for either blog or podcast
The following topics are the ones to at least capture my attention. I have to feel good about the author, the content itself, and of course, if it offers the reader value. I will likely edit slightly for SEO. The quality must be superb! If you are not a career professional (counselor, career advisor, consultant, coach or work with job seekers), it is unlikely I will publish your article.
Other required criteria and need-to-know info:
- 500 Words or more (for most posts)
- One link to the author’s blog and one to your Twitter and LinkedIn accounts
- Include your bio and within your bio how you help job seekers
- Allow some time for your article to be approved and published. I will let you know by email when it is scheduled.
- Please only pitch topics below. We have published many articles and shows on resumes, LinkedIn, cover letters and etc.
- I am interested in new topics but must be discussed and vetted first
- I will NOT publish an unoriginal infographic at this time
GUESTS FOR PODCASTS (Read above for articles in addition to this area)
I have a long waiting list for those who inquire about being a guest. I have a criteria and a reason someone appears on the show. In fact, I don’t take pitches. I hate pitches because they lack substance and a value exchange for my audience. They are often without research of the show, and many times something I’ve already done. You can get on my radar if you read below.
- I WILL entertain conversations from the author/co-authors
- I vet carefully for the podcast! No regular content (articles, white papers, audio, videos, radio, television), then your chances are minimal unless you can make a case for an interview.
- All content is subject to editing at my discretion for publishing
- To get my attention, connect with me on your very active social media account to start (Start with LinkedIn; without it, no go). The best guests build a relationship with me first, listen to show episodes, understand what this platform means, and deliver unique value.
- Don’t ask me for stats or you’ll be blocked (like Lebron blocked Steph)
- I don’t make appointments to put on anyone’s calendar for my podcast. Just as you won’t invite me over for dinner to your house to cook dinner for me.
- I stalk for guests. I see what comes through your timeline, see the value I think is great for my audience, and you’ll get the invite. Nothing wrong with asking me for a guest spot. I would have seen and interacted with you and your content. If I don’t find unique value, it’s like it won’t be for the podcast.
Please send me your pitch: mark[at]thevoiceofjobseekers.com. If you want to capture my attention, then you will pitch one of these topics:
Remote Work
Diversity and Inclusion
- You can submit an interview with an expert (both of you as career professionals/practitioners/writers). You must e-mail with the idea to me first and I will send you the criteria
- You can submit a Speakpipe message (red button to your right) with your 3-5 minute career advice with the following information:
- Who you are and your website
- Your advice, who it’s useful for, why is it important to implement for a job search
There are other ways to work with me:
I write for several large career sites, and if you want to be on a list to be quoted, then you can email me (see above). In most cases, the article gets more visibility than the podcast. A Google search for name will reveal a long list of career publications and articles I’ve written.
